Summary

The EU is spearheading the development of new global norms for artificial intelligence (AI). AI is considered a key driver of future economic growth. Its uptake by firms is a priority. But what will be the consequences of firms’ increasing focus on AI? The answer to this question will be critical to policymakers working to improve AI uptake. In this context, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions AIFocus project studies the causes and consequences of firms’ increasing focus on AI by using an extensive firm-level data set. It creates a unique measure using firm disclosures to capture firms’ focus on AI. The measure allows the separation between different AI capabilities. The project’s findings will benefit decision-makers.

Results and measures will be published here soon.
